Aha Trailer Crawling – Lucky’s Puccias

What is Exactly is a Puccia?
The name alone was all the enticement we needed to select, Lucky’s Puccias (pronounced poo-chah), for this week’s crawl. Located in a neat and clean, little food trailer on 5th Street, Lucky’s has left some of the expected trailer grunge behind. With snappy signage and a welcoming shaded area with seating you’ll feel plenty comfortable ordering and eating here. The proprietor, Lucky (of course), is friendly, personable, and Italian (oo-la-la) but he’s a serious sandwich man at heart. Nothing but the best sandwiches in town is served here – no chips, no fries, no milkshakes. If you want a beer with your sandwich just turn around and grab one from the Tiniest Bar in Texas which is within arm’s reach of Lucky’s.

The authentic, wood fired, original sandwiches are so good we stopped caring that about what puccia means and simply dug in. Our mouths watering as we took our first bites. Yum. Fresh meat, cheese, veggies and delicious sauces are piled on a perfectly-toasted, delicious handmade, wood-fired bread bun. Yah baby, the bread makes the ’wich. We tried the Puccia, the Rustica, the Contadina and the Classica. All were superb, although the Contadina could have used a shake of black pepper and a tiny sprinkle of sea salt. We’ll be back for more.

According to the free online translating tool we used; the English word for puccia is puccia! We’re pretty sure it means “delicious”.
